The styrofoam cups that kids drew on were sent down to the bottom of the ocean, where they were crushed to a fraction of their original size, the cup pictured in particular was popular among the scientists for the careful balance of cheerfulness and morbidity.
The cups were put in a blue sack and sent 1519 meters below the surface to the sea floor. They started as normal sized cups and came back... well, different!
